Nel 2007 Lindsay Lohan si è dichiarata colpevole a due capi di accusa relativi all'essere sotto l'influenza di cocaina e non ha ammesso la propria colpa né affermato la propria innocenza per due accuse di guida in stato d'ebbrezza.
È andata in prigione ma ha passato solo 84 minuti dietro le sbarre. Le era anche stato ordinato di seguire una serie di corsi per l'educazione all'uso dell'alcol.
Ma non è riuscita a farli in tempo e non ha partecipato a numerosi incontri. Quando il giudice ha annunciato che avrebbe condannato la Lohan a 90 giorni di prigione, l'attrice è scoppiata in lacrime.
Non dovrà andare in prigione prima del 20 luglio ma quando verrà rilasciata dovrà partecipare ad un programma di riabilitazione per pazienti.

Lindsay Lohan sentenced to jail
The Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan has been sentenced to 90 days in jail. A judge in California ruled that she had violated probation, following a drug case three years ago.

In 2007 Lindsay Lohan pleaded guilty to two counts of being under the influence of cocaine and no contest to two drunk driving charges.
- pleaded guilty: admitted to

- no contest: a legal plea where someone neither admits guilt nor claims innocence of the charges
- drunk driving: driving a car after having consumed too much alcohol
She went to jail but spent only 84 minutes behind bars. She was also ordered to complete a series of alcohol education courses.

But she failed to do them on time and missed a number of meetings. When the judge announced that she was now sentencing Lohan to 90 days in jail, the actress burst into tears.
