Il Chelsea, squadra di calcio londinese, ha vinto il campionato inglese.

Hanno vinto l'ultima partita 8 a 0 il che ha impedito ai loro rivali del Manchester United di superarli.

Non c'è stato un colpo di scena sensazionale nel più ravvicinato finale della Premiere League inglese degli ultimi anni. Al contrario il Chelsea ha coronato il proprio primo titolo del campionato dal 2006 con stile.

La squadra londinese aveva un punto di vantaggio sui più vicini rivali del Manchester United all'inizio della giornata. Sarebbe potuto essere un pomeriggio travagliato ma la squadra londinese ha semplicemente strapazzato l'avversario.

Il che ha reso la facile vittoria dello United sullo Stoke City priva di senso. Il risultato termina il monopolio triennale del Manchester United sul trofeo. Un bel risultato per Carlo Ancelotti nella sua prima stagione al Chelsea come dirigente.

E ci potrebbe essere un altro trofeo per l'italiano e la squadra del Chelsea. Incontrano il Portsmouth nella finale di coppa FA la prossima settimana.

Tutto questo in una stagioene che è stata a volte difficile. Due dei più grossi nomi della squadra hanno fatto i titoli di testa dei notiziari per vicende non calcistiche.

Ci sono state dicerie sulla vita privata del capitano della squadra John Terry, e sul suo compagno, difensore della nazionale inglese, Ashley Cole. E la condizione del Chelsea ha sofferto per le conseguenze di quegli scandali.

Ma si sono ripresi e secondo la maggior parte degli osservatori neutrali hanno finito la stagione come campioni meritevoli.

Chelsea take Premier League title

London football club Chelsea have won this year's English Premier League title.

They won their last game 8-0 which prevented their rivals Manchester United from overtaking them.

So no dramatic late twist in the closest finish to an English Premier League season in recent years. Instead Chelsea completed their first League title since 2006 in some style.

The London club began the day with a one point lead over their nearest rivals Manchester United. It could have been a jittery afternoon, but the London club simply overpowered their opponents.
